What is your work process?
First thing is to evaluate your needs, then we provide you with solutions, usually we give you 2-3 options and then you choose according to your budget. The development process is then similar for most projects but in some case there could be more or less stages depending on the complexity, simplicity or project purpose/scale.
At it's most rudimentary state, a website is basically a collection of text, images and multimedia (videos etc...) This content can be either provided by you or by us.
Usually, we provide images, graphics and photos as part of the design package, but some images and photos must be purchased and some require extensive time and research. This can be agreed on in the contract before starting the project. On smaller projects, the range of available photos and images will be limited.
Content as text is a totally different web design area. It needs to be crafted by experts and is beyond standard web content. All website text content must be provided by client. Custom text can be ordered and developed by our expert writters and copywrites as an additional contract or billed per hour.
What happens if you disappear after the site is done?
After website completion,we will give you all the files including framework, content and database. It's a single package that can be deployed by any experienced webmaster. We don't use proprietary software, all our solutions are open source, so any professional developer can access the files and reinstate your website.
How long will it take to make your website?
There is no simple answer to that question because numerous factors will come into account:
- Time of the year
- Our current work load
- How fast you provide us with content
- Complexity of the project
- External factors out of our control
But usually for a simple website expect about 1-2 weeks and larger projects 2-6 weeks on average but can take much longer depending on project scope. Fast and rush small websites can be done in 72 hours in some circumstances, please contact us for details.
How much does a website cost?
The cost to build a website can vary enormously depending on a variety of factors just like the cost of a car would. But the average website cost is about $2000 with a average range between $500 and $5000. In order to give you an accurate web design quote, it's important that you tell us EXACTLY what you need your website to do, then we will provide you with solutions ( usually 3 choices at different price ranges), then you can choose according to your budget and the quality/functionality you require.
How much are changes (revisions)?
Before putting your content on your website you need to SURE that it is really what you want. It's important for you to do the editing and revision BEFORE publishing the content to the website. However, sometimes mistakes happen, and it's normal to need to go over things and tweak a few items, within reason this is free of charge.
10 minor revisions are provided at no charge, these include changes to text body, navigation text, labels, fields, descriptions, titles, meta tags and any text that is accessible via framework's backend. Changes to code, themes or images is billed by the hour or by contract.
What about payment?
For small projects:
- 50% down before starting project
- 50% balance on project completion
For larger projects:
- 1/3 down before starting project
- 1/3 for project second phase
- 1/3 balance on project completion
How much do you charge for website maintenance?
If no maintenance contract is stipulated, tweaks, fixes and changes to the project will be billed per hour in increments of 15 minutes. Some content changes to text can be done free of charge at our discretion on a case by case basis. Changes to images, navigation, text, code, theme, functionality etc...will be billed by hour or by micro subcontract agreements.
These maintenance requirements vary greatly depending on a multitude of parameters that are out of our control so we usually charge by the hour, but in some cases contract agreements can be made.
